The customer used H13 Hardened in their upset forging operations. The forging tool has an ID code that is stamped on each part. This code is critical to tracking parts in the field. Each code tells what plant made the part and the part number.
When the code becomes illegible the tool has to be changed.
Using H13 Hardened, tooling had to be changed out twice during an eight hour shift due to wear.
